Submitting your capabilities positions your organization for consideration in future collaboration or funding opportunities aligned with AFRL needs. \nThis Call for Interest is intended to identify relevant capabilities and better understand the current technology landscape. Information submitted will be used to inform potential future showcase and collaboration activities. \n\nTechnologies of Interest \nResponses should address the following technical challenges using publicly releasable data where available. \n\nExtreme Thermal Management –Material systems capable of maintaining structural and electromagnetic integrity at temperatures exceeding 900°C (~1600°F). Please describe the proposed solutions resistance to thermal shock during rapid temperature changes and ability to maintain stable electromagnetic properties across a broad range of temperatures.\nStable Electromagnetic (EM) Performance – Solutions that achieve stable dielectric constants and loss tangents across a wide frequency band and the full range of operational temperatures. SUMMARY:FIRST®LEGO League Challenge 2025-2026 AGE Season Dates
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT FIRST\nThe Doolittle Institute proudly manages the FIRST® LEGO® League programs and the FIRST® Tech Challenge AeroCoast League for Northwest Florida. These hands-on programs and competitions inspire creativity\, teamwork\, and problem-solving\, preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s STEM workforce. \nFIRST LEGO League Challenge is an exciting\, high-energy event where student teams showcase months of hard work in STEM\, teamwork\, and innovation. The day typically begins with a team check-in and setup\, followed by a series of judged sessions where teams present their Innovation Project\, demonstrate their Core Values\, and explain their robot design. The highlight of the day is the robot game\, where teams compete in timed matches on a themed playing field\, using LEGO Spike Prime Robots they’ve designed and programmed to complete missions. Throughout the event\, teams are encouraged to collaborate\, cheer each other on\, and embody the spirit of Gracious Professionalism®. The day ends with an awards ceremony celebrating creativity\, perseverance\, and engineering excellence. This year’s theme\, #Unearthed\, challenges teams to identify a problem faced by archaeologists and propose a solution to help address it. \nFIRST Tech Challenges is an action-packed experience where middle and high school teams put their engineering\, programming\, and teamwork skills to the test. The day begins with team check-ins and robot inspections to ensure compliance with game rules. The heart of the event is the robot matches\, where alliances of two teams each compete in a dynamic\, head-to-head game on a 12’x12’ field. Teams must strategize\, adapt\, and collaborate in real time. Between matches\, teams scout other robots\, make repairs\, and refine code.  Locally\, here in the AeroCoast\, we have 25 teams this season competing in the DECODE theme. \nInterested in Volunteer Opportunities? DESCRIPTION:Event Overview: DITS CUAS_Event Wrapper_Updated\n\nAt a Glance \n\nEvent: DI Tech Showcase – Counter-UAS Technology Call for Interest\nFormat: Hybrid | Invitation‑Only\nFocus: Innovative technologies supporting the Find\, Fix\, Track\, Target\, and Engage (F2T2EA) workflow against Group 1 UAS in complex and contested environments\nWhen: 22-25 June (tentative)\nWho Should Participate: small businesses\, academia\, research institutions & federal labs\nWhy Participate: to be considered for future AFRL collaboration opportunities\, including potential white paper submission\, technical evaluation\, or follow‑on engagements.\nSubmission Deadline: NLT 22 April 2026 at 1700 CST\nVendor / Organization Notifications (anticipated): 4 May\n\n\nOverview:\nDoolittle\, in partnership with AFRL at Eglin Air Force Base\, is seeking information from U.S.-based organization developing innovative solutions that support the Find\, Fix\, Track\, Target\, and Engage (F2T2EA) workflow against Group 1 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operating in cluttered\, complex\, and contested environments. \nThis Call for Interest is intended to identify relevant capabilities and support government review and down-selection for participation in the DI Tech Showcase (DITS) – Counter UAS\, a four-day hybrid event planned for 22–25 June. Selected vendors will present their submitted technologies to a panel of government SMEs for evaluation and feedback. \nGovernment SMEs will observe presentations\, engage with vendors\, and provide technical feedback throughout the event. Selected organizations will be invited to submit a White Paper against the existing BAA.\n\nTechnologies of Interest \n\nHardware – Physical components supporting counter-UAS operations\, including modular or mobile systems\nSoftware – Algorithms\, autonomy\, analytics\, or tools that support the F2T2EA workflow\nSensors – Technologies for detecting\, tracking\, or characterizing Group 1 UAS in cluttered or contested environments\nEffectors – modular\, updatable\, and capable of operating in complex and contested environments\nIntegrated systems – Solutions combining multiple counter‑UAS capabilities into a unified system supporting the full F2T2EA workflow\n\nCandidate solutions should be modular\, updatable\, target‑agnostic\, and effective in static and mobile scenarios. \n\nWho Should Submit Interest:\nOrganizations that meet the following criteria are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest: \nUser‑Maintainable\, Modular Solutions: Candidate technologies should be user maintainable\, modular\, repairable\, re‑configurable\, and updatable whenever feasible. Leveraging Modular Open Systems Approaches (MOSA) and Open Systems Software Architectures is desired. \nU.S.-Based Organizations: Interested organizations must be U.S.-based\, employ a U.S.-citizen workforce\, and have no significant OCONUS interests\, obligations\, or foreign ownership. \nDisclosure of Existing Relationships: Organizations must disclose any existing partnerships\, research agreements\, joint ventures\, or active contractual obligations with the DoD\, DHS\, or other Federal Government entities. \n\nSubmission Details (Submissions Closed; Vendor Selections Finalized)\nUpdate: The submission requirements have been revised to include a one-page capability summary. \nSubmitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) enables your organization to be considered for potential inclusion in future Tech Showcase activities. DESCRIPTION:2026–2027 Season\nDoolittle Institute is seeking community volunteers to support local FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge events during the 2026–2027 season. \nFIRST® is the world’s leading youth robotics community\, delivering hands-on STEM learning that inspires innovation\, builds confidence\, and prepares kids for life. In welcoming\, team-based robotics programs\, participants work collaboratively to solve an annual\, themed robotics challenge.
